Momma said to knock you out

Music -- Röyksopp: So Easy

Worked with Shirt Guy Frown yesterday, and came up with the basic BadBlood shirt design. Now I need to keep up my end of things and get a Club Sanctuary logo design to him by Friday. Woogie~ time is short!

Eh well, we treated ourselves to a Mercury visit afterwards, where I proceeded to have 3 1/2 Whiskey Sours (and a bitchin' case of heartburn for my efforts), and watched Frown male-bond with a fellow Asian Posse lifer. Fascinating and educational.

I spent most of the time (as usual) studying the dance floor, and thus proceeds an atrocious rambling of that effect:

We watch and tap, fighting the seduction. The heavy thumping pulse travels from head and foot to meet in the gut, a sensation that can't be ignored. The floor throbs and it's marionettes twist and thrust, lost to another dimension where the feeling is all and death to those who would violate the Zone. Tread not lightly into the midst, but with gusto. Own the space, but respect the boundaries -- or else all hell will break loose. Burn it kid, burn it up.

And with that I retire for the day. Who knows what will happen tonight.

Gnawing and restless,

Writing Electric

There's a new story trying to claw it's way out of me.

It hit today in the midst of chores, indeed while I was taking out the recycling and got accosted with a sing-song "Love you" that made me cringe and feel instead the NEED behind those words. Needy people will be the death of me.... in the meantime they are soooo inspiring.

I once dared on the Dominion forums that I would pen a story of a tentacle monster lover. Yes indeed, and the idea has been lingering back there like an incipient child... it was all rebirthed by a mental rant about the meaning of love while I washed the dishes and had Razed In Black's Shrieks, Laments and Anguished Cries pumped into my ears via headphones. I also once vowed to my mother that I would pen a story of my sister. So now the two coincide and plot my destruction... it will be glorious... and messy.

Perhaps I will share development notes here as I write the thing. Or maybe I won't. Not sure. I do know I will write it first, or attempt to, prior to deciding what to do with it. If it writes well, maybe it'll be a fiction peice to be submitted somewhere. Or failing that it could become a post-BadBlood webcomic project. Or maybe I'll try and find an artist for it. Getting way ahead of myself here, first write, then worry. Because lord knows it may not get written at all... but it wants to be, it demands it. Christ help me.

*sigh*

So I watched Elektra today. What a fun little film! It was right up there with Mortal Kombat in my book, though a touch more 'girly'. I don't get why it got panned... but then I've never read the comic books, so maybe that's it. Or maybe they have something against Jennifer Gardner... All I know, is that this guy is fucking HAWT:

Goran Visnjic

And I was a bit disapointed that Elektra didn't hit it. Sheesh...

Contemplating the pain...

BadBlood is finally updated. Ugh.

My ass hurts from sitting in this chair working all day, and I'm out of American Spirit Lights, which means I had to swipe three Marb 27s from hubby before he left, and I'm about to go have one and think what to say here. Hope they don't taste as bad as the three nasty half-buttless Camel 100's my sister left over here last summer. Fuck, those were stale.

Back soon...

...

BLEH! Marb 27s taste exactly like nasty half-buttless Camel 100's my sister left over here last summer! TFWaaa? Sheesh... the crap they pawn off on us. Hope Craig brings back some American Spirit Lights tomorrow... or better yet Ultra Lights, my preffered sticks of air that last 20 mins. Ooooyeah

Anyways, I finished reading The Proud Highway the other day, and was trying to get into a book Jack lent me, Jon Stewart's America, but you know... after being in HST's world, Stewart's humour seems trashy and a waste of time. I'll have to try that one later I think. In the meantime I've been reading the March 24th issue of RollingStone which is a memorial issue for Hunter S. Thompson. Fits more of my mood... You know what sucks? A few months ago, after my friend Travis had lent a bunch of HST books, and I read them, I was going to write Hunter, send him a letter thanking him for everything he's been and done..... Ah well... I thank him in spirit, and will continue to collect his books.

Grrrrargh... I need to be off and scanning news crap for buzzBugle... so I'm out of here for now.

Hastily,
~Liriel

*edit almost two hours later*: Would you believe there's no news worth reporting...? Now my ass really hurts!

Morning at the office

Just woke up.

Craig's half way through watching Elektra and I didn't wannna spoil it for when I find time to watch it later (he says if you watch it like a martials arts flick [as opposed to a comic book flick] it's not that bad at all)...

So instead here I am, sitting at the box while I drink my coffee and attempt to become fully conscious before getting to work on pencil-shading page 4:08.

Heh, becoming fully concious doesn't seem possible right now. Had a bad night of it for no particular reason... *falls into staring at the glowing screen*

...

*remembers to reminds self to mention Random Pirate Comics to John Lustig for a CNW speaking...*

*wonders how soon the tax refund will arrive so the CascadiaCon bill can get paid off... wonders what will be on the questionnaire the con'll be sending shortly...*

*hopes Frown gets better for another weekend of mayhem and torture... oh, and shirts...*

*curses shopping cart and USPS production server errors...*

...

*finishes coffee... feeling awake... needs a smoke...*

...

And that's one of my mornings, wee~

Coffee buzzin',

Brain Dead Zombie

Damnit, I knew I should have blogged as soon as I got on the net, now all those precious thoughts are sucked away into the great void and replaced by everything I've been doing on the net for the past 6 hours ('working' for the curious). Damn net.

Yeah so... brain dead here, though finally kicking this cold... appearently I kicked it right off onto a friend and devoted reader... so sorry about that Frown... really, I meant well :(

And he went a gave me this too:

*secretly can't wait to see the original :D*

And so... story time.

There's these people who live down the street, in a duplex, fairly white trash looking... and they have this FLEET of white vans. White econo-line sized passenger vans with tinted windows. I was just outside having a smoke, and all three pulled up at once to park... at 11pm... What the FUCK do they do with those vans? Sometimes I've been out there at 2am and see one or more pull up to park. Shady, very shady...

That's all for now.

Too pooped to pop,

Pure Genius

Well... we might as well all quit this stupid webcomicing crap now. I mean how can we compete with a pro? What the hell am I talking about? Only my childhood hero turned webcomicer... Why Phil? WHY?! *sigh* April 18th is doomsday DOOOOMSDAY... (Girl Genius Online)

BUT, I've decided instead of slitting my wrists, I'd just lose my mind in this for a while: SIN CITY: From The Comics to the Screen

Ahhh... much better.

Lost,

Damn Cold

Music: Rammstein > Du Riechst So Gut

Problem is... I can't smell for shit right now with this damn cold. It's still hanging on with it's little claws into me, refusing to let go. Worse then a crab louse.

Supposed to be working on the latest comic page right now, but since I haven't been on the net since Saturday morning had to get on, check on shit, and do a few things. It's okay though because I did do most of the page last week, just gotta get over the hump on pencling the rest of it today... fighting with two empty panels and probably a couple re-dos that are bugging the fuck out of me.

Lord the profanity.

So the Pope died. Hmmm... I breifly sketched a thing to honor the event (seeing as I got a couple Catholic characters in the book), but it'll probably never see the light of day. I just lost interest, and well the rest of the world is handling this overly well, so I'm moving on.

In other none-news, saw Sin City Saturday night and it kicked my ass up one side of the theatre and down the other. Bad ass movie. It will eat your soul and leave you with a craving for babes in fetish wear.

Stayed out way to late that night and woke up with painful throat, tried to go watch WrestleMania on Sunday but when upon arriving at said friends house discovered it had begun some two hours before usual, so we all sat, smoked, ate MickyDs and shot the shit.... to death. Would have been an 'okay' weekend but for this cold, which I can't wait to be rid of.

Well, I'd best wrap this up and get to work.

Procrastinating,
~Liriel

*edit 8:12pm*

Summabitch... I tried publishing this bitch this morning but I guess it didn't go through... let's try it again...
